You were excited at first, when you and your sister Haley found entry jobs at the same company and living together will certainly reduce the cost of moving to the city . She's your twin, and only two hours older than you and to her, that's enough to always break your balls but she's always been there for you. So, how much can you complain.
The general consensus is that this game has the best portrayal of an incestuous relationship between a brother and a sister in all of AVNs. I agree with that assessment. While the game has setbacks in the pacing, plot, and general tone department, Haley’s story is a must-play game for any of the step-supporters out there. Though, needless to say, you’ll probably want to skip this one if incest turns you off completely.
This game looks old, feels old, and runs old. If you find the characters endearing in any way, it will likely have to do with the relationship you build with them, not necessarily their look. The graphics are the weakest part of the game, by far. Animations start janky and end janky. You’ll spend most of the game in the same apartment and job environments, adding the parents’ home later.
This is the game’s strongest element, and arguably its downfall as well. Let me start by saying that the rumors are true, the way Dan and Haley interact with each other and build their relationship is probably the most natural feeling incestuous relationship I’ve seen in an AVN. Most of the entertainment will come from the will-they-won’t-they dynamic they play during the first few hours.
While the plot is serviceable at first, the story lacks cohesiveness. To the point that the game shifts weirdly between the first arc, to the therapy and home sections, to then end abruptly with almost no sense of satisfaction. I’m pretty sure got someone killed, and I had zero follow-up on that. The tone starts as playful, remains like that for most of the game, then turns fucking dark all of a sudden, then goes back to normal, then teases you with a confrontation and a struggle that never happens.
As great as this sibling dynamic is, I will not remember this story as being great, even though there are some fucking good elements here.
The lewd content in this game is a weird package. There’s a surprising amount of spanking content, not that I’m against it necessarily. There are more LIs aside from Haley, but the main kick you’ll get from this game comes from the taboo of Dan’s and Haley’s relationship. Pretty vanilla, aside from that.
This game could’ve been so much more than this. I have zero knowledge of why the story ended so abruptly, but I can’t help but get a bittersweet taste in my mouth when I think about it. Even so, anyone who’s into the step-sibling genre should play this game at some point. The rest of the AVN player base will likely be okay with skipping this one.
